You take three potatoes and you cut them in half, and give one half-potato to each child.
Next, you take the remaining two potatoes, and you cut them in thirds, giving each child one third-potato.
Each child has one third-potato, and one half-potato, which we all know makes 5/6 potatoes (aforementioned amount of potato per child). In addition, there are a total of 12 pieces of potato. "Cheaper by the dozen"
please state if the potatoes are of the same weight. thanks. questions like this are ambiguous. that's why the questions are called trick questions. they're ambiguous.

Let the children fight for supremacy. Whoever still lives at the end of their tiny gladiator match will receive a potato. The following week there will be four potatos.
this is a stupid question rreeeaadd iiitt!! we naturally assume when it says divide into 6 they have to be equal it doesnt! you give 4 children each a potato and 2 half potatos! DUUUHHHH! ~
27 Comments:
cut each potato into 1/3's (gives you 15 pieces) then cut each into 1/2 (giving you 30 pieces). Now it's easy to divide 30 by 6. 5 pieces.

hahaha
"good" out-of the box thinking by will
Boil them, then make mashed potatoes. Give each an equal share.
mashing is out of the box?
Maybe not out of the box but still correct. I never thought of that way, only dividing them into pieces! Smart thinking!
allow the potatoes to sit in a dark area for about a month until they grow eyes. Plant said potatoes. Now there are plentiful potatoes for everyone!
Cut them up and make potato chips
leave it to the potatoes they have eyes too!!
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH WHAT WILL SAYS ITS LOGICAL
5/6 potato each

Good mathematics :)
you could just...hand them to them
or put them all in a box
divide each potato by 6 and each child will receive 5/6 of a potato
give 1 potato to each kid and keep two for yourself hahaha jk do what will said
THE ANSWER IS EASY, one child goes hungry

The big kid beats the crap out of the other 5 and eats them all. How do you think he got so big?
"How will you divide 5 potatoes among 6 children?"
I won't. I'll take them to Wendy's to get them baked potatoes and Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers with a Frosty.
disapoint one
cut each patato into 6 pieces and you will have 30 pieces. then give each child 5 pieces. :)
p.s. my name is dillon
take the five potatoes divide them into six pieces and give each kid 5 slices
Keep 4 for yourself and let the kids fight over 1 for your entertainment.
