cut each potato into 1/3's (gives you 15 pieces) then cut each into 1/2 (giving you 30 pieces). Now it's easy to divide 30 by 6. 5 pieces.

Maybe not out of the box but still correct. I never thought of that way, only dividing them into pieces! Smart thinking!

allow the potatoes to sit in a dark area for about a month until they grow eyes. Plant said potatoes. Now there are plentiful potatoes for everyone!

You take three potatoes and you cut them in half, and give one half-potato to each child.

Next, you take the remaining two potatoes, and you cut them in thirds, giving each child one third-potato.

Each child has one third-potato, and one half-potato, which we all know makes 5/6 potatoes (aforementioned amount of potato per child). In addition, there are a total of 12 pieces of potato. "Cheaper by the dozen"

Let the children fight for supremacy. Whoever still lives at the end of their tiny gladiator match will receive a potato.
The following week there will be four potatos.

I won't. I'll take them to Wendy's to get them baked potatoes and Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers with a Frosty.
