The X factor

The "X" in LAX (los angeles airport code) means void or empty space which was added when the airport code was extended from two letters to three letters. How many other X's you know which has unique meanings?

like in X-OR gate in electronics X means EXCLUSIVE...
again it is used to mean NOTHING or UNKNOWN in the form of variables as well as in X-RAY...
again in meaning the dynamism of a guy we use it as X-FACTOR...
.........and many more....

It is sometimes frustrating to stop at the pedestrian X-sing when you are trying to get to work on time.
Another use is in genetics to identify the female sex chromosome.
Oh, yeah! One of my favorites, in the Internet, IM, and TXT messaging realm: XOXOXO, I am not sure whether it means "hugs" or "kisses"

The most obvious one that comes to mind is the X coordinate of a crtisian plane. I soppose if you wanted a meaning attached to it we could say "horozontal" how ever this is purely arbitrary and only standard for 2d coordinate systems.

x stands for a lot of things like in wow(world of warcraft) it stands for crossroads when we type it like this "xroads". i dont know why we call it x-mas but it might be that it deals with christ iam not much of a religious person so i realy dont know, um we mostlty us "x" as a sign of crossing something thers to many things to count to tell u every thing o and by the way x=hugs and o=kisses

In the engineering field. "x" denotes a separator for dimensional descriptions. i.e. "2x4", etc...

Also, in regard to "xoxo", the x indicates a kiss because of the way the two faces involved are angled in order to avoid a nasal collision, and the "o" indicates a circle of arms, or a hug.

There are many meanings of 'x' here's some of the top of my head:
A strike in bowling
X chromosome
The roman numeral for ten
The x axis

Only in American airplane designations. The British used the prefix "E" for "Experimental" during The War.
Of course, as an American citizen, I can certify that the reason for this is because nobody here knows how to spoel.
