Twice four and twenty black birds
Were sitting in the rain
I shot and killed the seventh part,
How many did remain ?

24 birds remained.
Twice four is eight, plus twenty, makes 28. A seventh of that is four.
If you think it says twice 24, then the answer is 41.14286. :)
2x4+20=28-7=21
Come on! It does not say 'I shot seven of them'! It says 'I shot the seventh part of them', which is one seventh.
the ones that she killed remained; the rest flew away.
21 Twice four is eight. plus 20 is 28. 28 minus seven is 21!
Well if you take the basic properties of sentence conversion to formulas, you get 2(4+20) so I'm going to go with mmlauser's answer
none when you shot the seventh part then the rest had time to fly away. No birds would have stayed when a gun or anything for that matter was getting shot at them.
the four dead birds I guess remaind.
I think it means 'remained alive'.
none
:)
they all flew away!
yes they flew away. so none remained.
if it supposed to be 2x4+20=28and u mean how many birds live the answer is 27 if u mean 2+4+20=26 then 25 birds if and supposed to mean times it would be etiher 2x4x20=160-1=159 if its 2+4x20=120-1=119 because it said i shot the seventh part not 7 birds part means the 7 bird from the group if there all on a tree or a power line from either the left or right side
so i vew it from many angels (follow me here)
2x4+20=28
28/7=4
28-4=24
or
2x4+20=28
28-1=27
