Get Work Done
David Taylor wanted his house painted in two days. One contractor said that he would charge $ 210 and take one full week. Another contractor wanted six days with same charges. the third contractor too was happy about the charges but expressed his inability to finish his work in less than five days.
David Taylor was in a hurry and wanted it done in two days and no more. Accordingly he consulted Johnny Appleseed , a close friend.
"Oh! that is no problem, I will get the work done." said Mr. Appleseed . "It will cost just $ 4 more and you need not worry, I shall pay that out of my own pocket."
What was Mr. Appleseed 's plan?

Did he take the money that David payed him and then paid the previous 3 guys to do it for the amount that they asked?
It is a fairly simple question.
Mr. Appleseed will have each contractor perform two days worth of work. The first is $30/day, the second is $35/day, and the third is $42/day, for a daily total of $107. Two days equals $214 of which Mr. Appleseed is paying the extra $4.
Nice plan, but Mr. Appleseed shouldn't really need to pay an extra $4. In two days, the first contractor would paint 2/7 of the house, the second 2/6 and the third 2/5. That totals to more than the whole house, so the contractors won't need a full two days. If Mr. Appleased contracted and paid the slowest guy to do 4/15 of the house (instead of 4/14), he would be paying him exactly $4 less, and the house would still get done within two days.
he could have hired all the contracters to get it done in 2 days
