The bus

A strange man wrote some instructions for him self:
"1)Get on bus number 44 it's has 45 stops.
2)Wait 44 stops.
3)Count how many people are on the bus.
4)If there are 44 people on the bus get off the bus and skip 5.
5)Switch to the bus with one number below your current bus number and continue the instructions from number 2.
6)You're done."

The man follows the instructions.
Which stop no' will he get off the bus?

It depends on which number he got on in the first place and whether or not there are 44 people on board after 44 stops from where he got on...

If a bus has 45 stops, and you get on at the first stop, and then you wait 44 stops, then you have reached the end of the line. Everyone on the bus will either be off or getting of at that stop. So you too must also get off at stop #45.

Furthermore, if all the buses have the same number of stops, you will end up riding all the buses until you get to 1, because stop #45 (44 stops after you get on) will always be the end of the line, or the station, where everyone gets off and so there will always be fewer than 44 people on it.

he will get off at stop number 45
because if he gets on bus 44 and he waits 44 stops hell come off at 45. if there are atleast 44 people on the bus he will get on another bus and still end up at stop 45

Assumption #1: The city's bus route is a single line with only 45 stops.
Assumption #2: There is no Bus #0
Assumption #3: When the man gets to bus #1 and he does not count 44 people, he will not restart at bus #44, but get off and be on his merry way.
Assumption #4: he begins at stop #1

As many of you have mentioned, the man will board bus #44 and wait until the end of the line and count the people, but since it is the end of the line, there will not be 44 people because everyone has gotten off to get to where they need to be.
So, he will get on bus #43 and ride all the way to stop #1 (the other end of the line), unsuccessfully try to count 44 people for the same reason as above, and get on bus #42 and carry on.

So...
When he rides a even numbered bus, he gets off at stop 45 and reboards the next bus.
When he rides an odd numbered bus, he gets off at stop 1 and reboards the next bus.

Since bus #1 is the last chance he has to count 44 people before he gives up, and 1 is an odd number, he will end up getting off at stop #1 after a long day of riding and counting to 44.

Thats my answer, take it or leave it.

How does he switch bus?
a)jump from bus to bus.
b)gets off first bus and gets on the second.

He'll get off the bus at stop 45 because to switch buses he needs to get off the bus.

he is the ticket rewier or bus inspector.Gets on the bus on stop 1 follow the journey for the next 44 stops and then gets off at the end of the line the45th stop wich is the the firts stop for the next bus that also has 45 stops. Then follows from step 2.
so he gets off on number 1.
