The Carpet Factory

A factory creates carpet with size in the range of length 10-15 foot and breadth 5-10 foot. One of manufacturing machine went bad and started creating a 8 x 1 foot hole in the middle of 9 x 12 foot carpet.

Alex Rogo, the plant manager responsible, when came to know about the problem the machine already created 1000 unit with holes. "I am going to lose my job for this," he thought, "Wait ! I have an idea to reduce the loss."

A week later he was promoted ! What did he do?

Assuming the 8' x 1' foot hole was across the shorter length, he cut each peice in half and trimmed off the excess.. Giving him 2 carpets of 5.5' x 9' ft..

A new size that they wern't previously able to create! They made millions and he got a promotion. :)

He told the boss to contact some companies and inform them that there were some entryway carpets ready to have their logos simply inserted into the ready-made hole, and then did some serious one-time only overcharging
