Orange, because it's the only one that starts with a vowel.
Black, because it's not a colour its a shade.
sez which WORD... not colour...
orange..
Purple, because its the only one with two syllables.
These type of riddles always have a lot of different answers that could be right.
Orange also has two syllables.
Orange is the only one with no words that rhyme with it.
edit: Whirlpool, Gerbil, and Verbal are all words that rhyme with purple.

RED because it is the only primary color in the list
orange because it is a fruit
ORANGE, its a friuit
Orange, its a fruit or it starts with a vowel
but i think its black cause black isn't a color its the presence of all colors
daniel, try door hinge, it may be two words, but it still rhymes.
4th from bottom, blue is primary.
Green is also a primary colour.
I think it's Purple, cause it's the only one that's purple.

nothing to with question but to fix what someone said black isnt mix of all color it is abstent of color and white is mix of all color that is why prisms makes rainbows with white light and space is black
um Blue is also a primary color its red yellow and blue
p.S. Go back to first grade
actually green is a primary color of light the only regular primary colors are red yellow and blue as far as I know
I'm sorry, I haven't been in first grade for some time now. However, for those of you that are still in first grade, the additive primary colours are Red Green and Blue. These three colours make up white light, you can prove this to yourself by taking a circle of paper, colouring one third with red, one third with green and one third with blue. Stick a pencil through the center and "spin baby, spin". You should notice that it appears white. This is because you only have three types of receptors in your eyes that pick up the specific frequencies for those three distinct colours. As you look at the spinning disk, your brain will be interpretting all three of the additive primaries at once, telling your brain that the spot you are looking at contains all of the light that you can receive, making your brain 'see' white. This is also why CRT and even LCD monitors have three seperate pixels for each spot on the screen. one for blue, one for red and one for green. Take a close look next time your TV is showing a white picture and you should be able to see all three colours.
What you first graders are thinking of is the Subtractive primaries, Red Yellow and Blue, which were used by painters in the 18th century. These can be used to mix paints and what-not (but make sure you wipe the paint off your hands before drinking your juice) However, these three colours do not allow for the full spectrum of visible light (ie, you won't be able to get the full number of shades of green) as it leans closer to the 'red' area of the spectrum in general.
In case you're wondering, mixing Red and green makes yellow, blue and green makes cyan, and blue and red makes magenta.

PS, I still think the answer is Purple.
ITS BLACK! know why? theres no black M&M's!
theres no purple m&ms only purple skittles
Black because it is the only one that has no R in its spelling
Blue also does not have a 'r' in it, and there are purple m-n-m's, the dark chocolate ones are purple.
i agree that it is black
Black is not a color. Black is the absense of all light, just as white is the absense of all color.
PURPLE doesn't rhyme with GERBIL!!
They may sound similar, but they DO NOT RHYME.
I am i the 7th grade and even i know that the three primary colors are red yellow and blue. GREEN ISNT A PRIMARY COLOR!!! BlUE AND YELLOW CREATES GREEN SO IT ISNT A PRIMARY COLOR!!!!!!!
even though you all argue about black and white being a mix or absense of light., it seems that all but brown is a color in the rainbow.
mr know it all is a fake! he does really "know it all"...(duh)
white is the mixture of colours (visible spectrum at least) get a prism, shine a white light on it and you'll see skittles! im mean the rainbow colours...
geez.. im only 3 yrs old and i know that already...
hehehehhe
-Rx
gerbil does not rhyme with purple. nothing does! i is provin that nothing rhymes with the words orange, purple and silver!
orange is the answer (vowel)
i think the answer is ORANGE. because it is the only word which is a NOUN as well as as an ADJECTIVE....
for billy bob:
green is a primary color of LIGHT, as it was pointed out in a previous post. Blue and yellow PIGMENTS make green, but no mixture of light can make green.
