What am I?

(and extra points to whoever can tell me the rhyme scheme of this question)

An angel I would think. The white take you to heaven, the black down to hell. Of course they won't take you back to living.

Its called a Long Measure . This is a variation of Common Measure, and consists of three rhymes of iambic tetrameter. This gives a suggested pattern of:

x x x x x x x a
x x x x x x x b
x x x x x x x c
x x x x x x x b

first, a chess piece, no, it doesn't take you anywhere; second when i said it's black or white i meant it was literally black or white.

Ok the answer was a hearse; so codyc was the only one right, and the answer with the iambic tetrameter is wrong because if you use the commas as line seperations, each line does not contain four iambic feet, which is the definition of an iambic tetrameter, also not a long measure because a long measure is made up of an iambic tetrameter.

So, ingrid got the rhyme scheme part right

Um... well it could be a chess piece, when a piece captures one of your pieces it's referred to as "taking" a piece, and most chess pieces are ARE literally white or black.
