There's no lid just put your hand in and take what you want

It also says hid, it never says how do you get the treasure though.

I vote for egg.

Others could be:
* Sandbox with yellowish sands
* Box Spring with gold treasure hidden inside
* A bucket of KFC
* If the riddle maker meant to be blonde box etc, it shall be discouraged. We would like to keep this space clean...
* Thank you, ladies and gents.

He/she's right. "Riddles in the Dark" chapter, Bilbo Baggins and Gollum. It's an "eggsie"

it is an egg because a shell has no lid , the yolk is golden, but you can not see the golden yolk treasure because it is hidden.

Ok, I think it could be a cat-box. with kitty litter in it ... and a fat piece of crap that is a golden color. The golden "treasure" is hidden underneath some kitty litter.

I don't care to read what others have wrote.

The answer is an egg, you find this out in the story "Hobit", prequel to the lord of the rings series.

shell= box, yolk= treasure, egg whites= the stuff to hide it in.
