Furious with her black cat, Angela attempts to shoot it. Instead, she hits and kills her elderly father, while the cat flees. To hid her crime, Angela drags her fathers body into the cellar and walls up the corpse. Alerted by worried neighbors, the police incestigfate the cellar and, by listening carefully, quickly discover the body, along with something else quite enexpected.
What did the police hear and what else did they find.

i like being the first one to post things but i like it better if im right!
is it the
CAT? because the puzzle doesnt specify where the cat went....so the cat would have "meowed" in agony eventualy of starvation....but for short term, the cat would be stuck all alone with a rotting,lifeless corpse..
reasons for this answer...
the puzzle does not specify where exactly the cat was shot or where it ran to!!! haha...and its kinda obvious if you think about it

Post 1 is right. The cat was found behind the false wall with the body. This was an Alfred Hithcock movie. Sorry to spoil the fun.
before it was a hitchcock movie, it was an Edgar Allen Poe story "The Black Cat"
Mobile phone (cell phone). Police called the father's number and followed the ring tone to its source.
Dunno what else they found that was unexpected.

. . . of course, in the real world (which Trickofmind is not) there would be no need for the police to "listen carefully". The presence of fresh mortar (or plasterboard or whatever) in the cellar would have been a dead giveaway.

It is the cat because this story has been taken from a story by Edgar Allan Poe the body is there as well
