I think its got something to do with his name, mabe some kind of amagram maybe....

The president was referring to 5 Country leaders, not sales people. He was talking about human relationships. The President was talking to his child. Children are the best salesmen. Heck what is this puzzle. do people even filter whats written here...rajesh???

I think the speaker is refering to the 5 cats he had purchased the day before from the same vendor. So therefore he would have said:
"Thank-you how are your cats?"
I'm right. I checked it.

I was all five of them.....this answer also matches the presumed letter count from the number of underscores.
The underscores could be wrong.. But I think almosthuman is right. It could also be I was all those 5 men. IF the underscores don't matter.
