The Fast and the Furious

There are two men that meet in Chicago and both saw each others car and thought that both had a faster more powerful car; so they both decide to race cross-country and see who can travel the most distance by the time they meet.

The men start off on the east and west coast, so the men call each other and told them they were both there. So the one on the east coast started off and 120 miles per hour, and the other starts off at 100 mph, assuming they didn't have to stop to fill up for gas, where do they meet?

1) They met in Chicago at the beginning of the story.
2) They met in jail because they were done for speeding (unlikely as they would have been given a ticket and got to drive off - even if they were put in jail they would have been in seperate counties)
3) They met in heaven / hell as they were driving so fast that they both died (unlikely although unsubstantiable)
4) Assuming they start due east and west (as the crow flies) of Chicago; the guy at the west will start just west of Pala Road near Fort Dick in California, the guy at the east will start just south of Marconi Beach Road in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. They will have to travel 3305.63 miles. Assuming they don't have to stop to fill up with gas, or for a place to eat or sleep, they will pass each other on the I-80 just south of Lincoln Municipal Airport, Nebraska . It is still unlikely however that they will meet as they will be on different sides of the highway so once they get to the other side and realise that they have missed each other, they will probably phone and agree to meet up in Chicago.
Man I'm bored in work

Oops, they will have to travel 3305.63 miles to get from east to west and vice versa, so the guy from the west has to travel 1502.56 (5/11 of the journey) miles and the guy from the east has to travel 1803.07 (6/11 of the journey) miles before they will meet.
I'm also assuming that they travel at a constant speed despite it saying that they STARTED off at certain speeds
Bored today as well.

They guy on the west cost will have to drive all the way from the west coast to the east coast because the guy on the east coast never really started off. Cause it says he started off and a 120 miles per hour. so that didn't say he started off AT, 120 miles per hour. so he really never left ne where. So the poor guy guy on the east coast will drive for about 27.8 hours or so... to get 3,300 miles. if he is driving at 100 miles per hour. I just did that off the top of my head idk if it's correct. prob is close tho.
