An Author writes a book every two years. when his seventh book is published, the sum of the years in which they were all published is 13,804. In which year were his seven books published?

the answer is 1966, 1968, 1970, 1972, 1974, 1976, 1978.
the equation is x+x+2+x+4+x+6+x+8+x+10+x+12=13,804
7x+42=13,804
7x=13,762
x=1966
In 1966 only 1 book was published. So they were all published by 1978.
i thought this was a challenge but this is basic algebraic and arithmetic skills you learn in gr.9.
probably some kid that wants his homework done. lol.
heres my solution same as second anon:
x + x+2 + x+4 + x+6 + x+8 + x+10 +
x+12 = 13804
7x + 42 = 13804
7x = 13762
x = 1966
x is the year he started and the + is for every consecutive 2 years he published from the original year.

1972. They wer written 2 years apart, but the question says to find the year they were ALL published, so 13804 / 7 = 1972.
yes, the user above is right. the above answer u guys stated is but one of the possibilities of the publishing.
However, this question cannot be solved completely as it says he writes a book evry 2years not "publish".

the 2nd anonymous wus the 1st 2 get it right. he didnt say that the answer was 1966. he included 1978. so haha u r a not so smarty pants. u thought that someone solved it for you! u r the one that has been tricked!!!
Many have calculated the year he started, which is right. However, the questionis when was the seventhbook published. That would then be 1978.
I'm gonna go with 1972. They were all published the same year, so when the 7th book was published in 1972, that year X 7= 13804

In which "year" were his seven books published? not which years were they published so i will go with 1972 since the question at hand states a singular year not multi years
if you divide 13804 by 7(no.of books) u get a median 1972. thus, the third even after 1972 would be 1978.
