It's Murder, Watson!

The facts are these my dear Watson

"One member of the family murdered another member, the third member witnessed the crime, and the fourth member was an accessory after the fact." said Holmes.

On the scene, Inspector Lestrade was found, who added the following.
  • Accessory and the witness were of opposite sex

  • The oldest member and the witness were of opposite sex

  • The youngest member and the victim were of opposite sex

  • The accesory was older than the victim

  • The father was the oldest

  • The murderer was not the youngest

Hah ! cried Sherlock Holmes. Lestrade, still confused, what about you ?

Murder = Father [Oldest]

Accessory = Son (Second Youngest)

Witness = Mother (Second Oldest)

Victim = Daughter (Youngest)

My answer without looking is:
Oldest person is male, accessory;
Next is male, victim;
Next is female, murderer;
Youngest is female, witness;
My answer seems to check out, as does the answer above, so we need more information to be conclusive. Maybe they were all naked which gave Holmes a clue.

Oops foregotten posted while I was working out my answer. When I've said answer above checks out I mean 1st post.
Foregotten you can't be right as youngest and victim are of opposite sex, but you've got them as the same person.
Plus it doesn't say that they are a nuclear family, all we know is there is a father so there might be 3 children, or grandparents or other relatives.

Well, the problem here is that it doesn't explicitly state who these people are. They could just as easily be a father with 3 children or a father, a grandfather, and 2 daughters, etc... Heck, it doesn't even say that all 4 of those were of the same family. So I decided to go with a basic family setup, saying a Father, Mother, Son, Daughter.

Mother = Murderer
Son = Victim
Daughter = Witness
Father = Accessory

im thinking:

Accessory and the witness were of opposite sex

The oldest member and the witness were of opposite sex

The youngest member and the victim were of opposite sex

The accesory was older than the victim

The father was the oldest

The murderer was not the youngest

they didnt ask you to solve it

It can be concluded that
father is not the witness/victim
youngest is not the victim/accessory/murderer
youngest is witness(female)=daughter
victim(male)=son
accessory(male=father
murderer-mother

age-father, mother, son, daughter

Here's what I've figured out:

Youngest: Female Witness
Second Youngest: Male Victim
Second Oldest: Male/Female & Murderer/Accessory.
Oldest: Male (Dad) & Murderer/Accessory.

There are no details about what place the other three members hold (ex: mom, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, etc.) All it says is they are members of a family indicating it's the same family. Can't be the oldest member if the other three aren't really members. The two oldest were responsible for the murder and the two youngest were innocent.

Here is the run down......

The father, a well known drug lord, A.K.A. Triste(35 yrs.old), had found out that his younger brother, Brian(28 yrs.old) had been stealing from his buisness. He was infuriated and wanted to teach his younger brother a lesson. He spoke it over with "Goblit" his 30 yrs. old brother, whom is also in the buisness and they both agreed to put him on the hot seat. Basically kick the living sh** out of Brian. Triste, had both of his brothers over for some drinks. At first, things were running smoothly, Brian had no idea what was yet to happen. After so many drinks, Triste layed the law down and started kicking him, and kicking him, and kicking him! Triste had no idea and did not mean too, but he eventually killed his brother. Triste panicked and asked Goblit for some advice. So Goblit took Brian's body and stashed it in the basement. While all of these was going on, Triste's daughter, Abigail (5yrs. old) witnessed all.
