Im going to say a fish.
I'm going to say space, but it's just a guess
I would have said fish also. BUT they said "Alive without breath" Now fish don't breathe air but they do breathe. That is why they die when not in water. And Fish was also a great guess cause their scales are like armor. I have no idea though. And if the answer is Fish then they should have left out the breath part.
fish
fishie!
a drunken knight spirit. firstly because u can drink as much as you want even though your never thirsy. secondly the armour because he is a knight.Thirdly because he is as cold as death because he is not human. Finally he is alive without breath because he there. Even if its not right its a good guess.so is a fish
MILO says...
a USS!
it runs on a motor, which needs no air, its a machine. Its a militaey ship, so it can be pretty deadly! Noone on the ship is thirsty for ocean water on board, but that is udderly impossible. They are made of some metalic substaces for protection, but they dont clinch!
A USS!
a sea turtle
like the fish but with armour
I like the USS answer more though I would change it from ship to submarine. It is the crew that gives it life.
In reference to the sea turtle comment: sea turtles breathe air just like every other turtle in the world.
Also, in reference to the fish being impossible because they "breathe" think about when this was written. They didn't have that much info and J.R.R. Tolkien wasn't a biologist. He was a professor of Anglo-Saxon. You also have to keep in mind that the time frame of the book is much farther back than even when Tolkien lived. So don't over-think it. The answer is fish by the way.
i want to say paper. it is alive in literature, cold as death as it is a dead tree, drinks the ink of pens, is used in mail, the chinese used to use a hardened paper in a lot of things including body armor
I kinda like the guess of it to be a paper. though, fish sounds quite right but still unsure about the breathing part. so, i think paper is quite a clever answer.
iCE.
