Woman on an elevator
A woman goes to work each day from a hotel. She lives on the 12th floor. Every day she takes the elevator to the lobby and to work. After work, she takes the elevator to the 8th floor and walks up 4 flights of stairs. Why does she?

She's a dwarf and can't reach any buttons higher than 8.
she is fat and needs to do exercise. She cannot do more than 4 flights of stairs a day or it would be pushing her heart too far!!Also she needs to them them all at once cause it burns more calories

It's because there's a hot man lives on the 8th floor, and she hopes that if she walks by his door he might invite her in for some "coffee". She thinks it would look silly walking past his door and then back again to the elevator (in case he's watching through peep-hole) so she just walks up the stairs to her floor.
She can't do it the other way in the morning in case she is late for work.
That's definitely the deal as the woman in my cousin Betty.
yeah the lady is definitely a little person. and she just may be a fat, desperate little woman.
i have heard one like this before
a man lives on the 12th floor and everyday takes the elevatore to the lobby to go work. then when he comes home if it had rained that day ha took the elevatore to the 12th floor, but if it was dry he would go to the 9th floor on the elevator and walk up 3 flights of stairs. why does nhe go to the 9trh floor on dry days and the 12th floor on rainy days?
the answer: he is short and can only reach the 9th floor button, but on rainy days he takes his umbrella to work and uses it to hit the 12th floor button!
some people are very set in ways that they feel give them good luck she could have on one occasion got off on the 8th floor by mistake and something good graced her the next day or she could have the bad luck of a faulty elevator where only the first nine buttons work the answers are endless
Because she's too stupid to carry a stick to reach the 12 floor button.
How many times has variants of this puzzle been posted in the past 6 months?? This makes 4 that I know of..
usually many hotels have different elevators for a limited number of floors..so probably while comin frm work the elevator she use to take goes till the 8th floor..rest she walks??
She works in the hotel hence:
Every day she takes the elevator to the lobby and to work.
she must then finish work and hand in her clothes or somethin on the 8'th floor then because she's fat walks up the other 4 floors because she needs to do something about loosin weight as she cant stop eating donughts

She's too dang short
She leaves from the hotel every day, but that's not where she lives. The elevator in the building she lives in only goes to the 8th floor.
cos she's too short to reach the 12th button!
problem is, that with reference to a real elevator/lift the buttons are in two lines, not on long line.
everybody who said she was short is right.she can't reach any buttons higher than 8.
