3 barrels
There are 3 barrels the first one has a sign saying apples, the second has a sign saying oranges and the third says mixed.
you can only stick your hand in 2 of the barrels. how do you determine what is in each barrel?

well its not hard to determine which has what...stick your hand in the 2 and feel'em up! if it only has smooth surfaces apples, only rough, oranges..and if has both then mixed...after that just use your noggin to name all 3...
I would say it's easier than it seems. Just simply look in the barrel to determine what it contains.
First of all sings can say anything you can only read them. Second you can stick your hand in the two barrels and deduce what they are and what's in the last barrel.

There are 3 identcal boxes with apples, oranges and apples mixed with oranges, respectively. On each box there is a WRONG label telling about its contents. Place all labels correctly by opening just one box.
Hint - you know a lot by knowing each label is wrong.

The mixed one is definately wrong so it must have a single type. so open that box.
If it has oranges then the box with apples is mixed and the box with orange is apples.
Else if it has apples then the box with oranges is mixed and the box with apples is oranges.

the question is wrong so the answer is:
READ THE SIGN!
Hmm.. weird. Suppose that the label of the barrels do not actually define what are inside. Meaning the one labeled apple could actually be tomatoes thought to be apples by someone who have never seen an apple before, and suppose that it is similar for the orange barrel. Then you just have to check what's in those two barrels, and you will know what's in the mixed because it's just a mixture of two barrels. Heh, it's kind of stupid if that's the solution.

Open any box, swap it's label with the correct label. Then swap the label of the other two. Done.
Reason, all the label were wrong. Open a box, if it is apples, then swap it's label with the apples label. You know the one you haven't touched is wrong, so swap the two you haven't looked into.

well you can only stick your hand in two. so when you put your hands in there, you can determine what you will get when you pull them out. if you have 2 of the same fruit in each of your hands then you know that one of those barrels is mixed and one is apples or oranges. oncwe you cancel out the third barrel, you can stick your hand back in and see if you get different fruit.
you know that the labels are all mixed up, so that means that if you stick your hand in the mixed one and pull out an apple you know that the barrel has to be apples. if you stick your hand in the apples and you pull out an orange you know that the barrel has oranges. so the barrels would be orange, mixed, apple. tada!
Answer for the wrong labeled boxes:
Open the box "MIX".
If there are apples, then the box with the label "ORANGE" contains the mix and the box with the label "APPLE" contains oranges.
If there are oranges, then the box with the label "APPLE" contains the mix and the box with the label "ORANGE" contains apples.
Why?
When you open the box "MIX", as the label is wrong, you know that in the box aren't mixed, so there are apples or oranges.
Imagine there are apples. So if you label the "MIX" box with "APPLE" and the "APPLE" box with "MIX", you are making a mistake, because you are saying that in the box labeled with "ORANGE" are oranges and as all labels are wrong, thats incorrect.
you can only stick your hand in 2 of them....so have someone else stick their hand in all three
