I agree, the peacock. If bird make nests in your garden, their eggs don't belong to you!
I would have to say the Peahen. Unless the Peacock had some plumbing redone...

ha. peacocks don't lay eggs because they have penis'. therefore, its neither of their eggs because it would be non-existent.
whether or not the peacock can lay an egg, the fact is that there is now an egg in Mr Green's garden. Therefore they should both share an omelette

The question states the Peacock 'lays' an egg in Mr Greens garden.
Now obviously a Peacock is male so lay here could not mean produce an egg itself, but it could still lay down an egg it had procured from elsewhere onto Mr Greens garden.
So, based on this we need more info on where Mr Browns Peacock found this egg to determine who the egg belongs to, as while possession is said to be nine tenths of the law, Mr Green could probably be done for trafficking or receiving stolen goods if the egg did not belong to the Peacock.
Maybe someone with a bit more knowledge on the law could help here.
