Another Odd Rafting Trip

There are 8 people that need to cross the river on a raft.
Only 2 can be on the raft at a time.
There is a Red Indian Chief and his two daughters. A Cowboy with his two sons. A policeman with a criminal.
The Red Indian Chief cannot be with any of the Cowboy's sons or he will kill them, unless the Cowboy is present.
The Cowboy cannot be with any of the Chief's daughters or he will kill them, unless the Chief is present.
The policeman must be with the criminal at all times or the criminal will escape.
Only the Policeman, Chief and Cowboy know how to operate the raft.
Try getting everyone across.

SideNotes:
The Red Indian Chief and Cowboy will not kill each other. Well you can say they know they are evenly matched so fighting is pointless.
And when I mean they cannot be together, it means either together on shore or on the raft.

Well it will take a while but it is possible. Have fun. :D

That doesnt work because it says that the criminal cant be left alone or he will escape.

its impossible...the raft can only have 2 passengers at one time....if the police and criminal go together..there is no one to bring the raft back...and they cant be seperated too..
if u start of the trip with the cowboy bringing his son along...the other son would die...and vise versa for the red indian case...

only 3 ppl noe how to operate, police, cowboy, red indian
police cant start...
cowboy cannot leave kids and same goes for red indian

meaning red indian and cowboy have to start off together..
start off together meanin wen 1 comes back, the kids die...unless u say police officer will make sure everything is fine...
lol
sry guys not possible..

Sorry maybe i wasn't too clear about the part when i said the cowboy and daughters or the chief and the sons cannot be together. It means that they cannot be left on the same raft or on the shore together.. but one can be on the shore while the other in the raft... technically the distance is too far for the chief or cowboy to kill

1 - Cowboy $ Chief head over - Cowboy returns alone
2- Cowboy takes son over and returns with chief
3- Cowboy leaves cheif picks over son and ferries him over, leaving both sons he returns once more alone.
4- The cowboy and cheif cross together and leave the cowboy on the other side while the cheif returns alone
5- The cop and criminal cross and the cowboy returns alone
6- the cheif and cowboy cross and the cheif returns alone
7- the chief takes one daughter across and then returns with the cowboy
8- the cheif leaves the cowboy, ferries the other daugther back and then leaves her on the other side returing alone.
9 - Finally the chief and cowboy sail across the river so that everyone has now crossed.

okay, jai, firstly, if chief and cowboy row over, then the chief comes back, the criminal and police officer can go over, and then the cowboy can row the boat back. sorry, but you're bad at this stuff.

this is just like the riddle-esque post....that i posted before, the only difference is that the criminal cant be left alone altogether. however, this fact makes it impossible. the police and criminal would have to go last because as the rules states, the criminal left on the other side of the raft would mean escape which means that if the police/criminal cross, they would both have to come back.. if both the chief and cowboy cross and one of them return, the returning individual will kill the others children. if one adult (lets say cowboy) crosses with his respective child, the child of the same adult that is left behind will be killed by the other adult (chief in this case). without the ability of the policeman crossing with someone other than the criminal, this is an impossible riddle.
...if i am wrong though, i would very much like to know the answer.

To antn,y... and all...!

why do u think the cowboy gonna help the chief and her doughters(when his boys and appearntly the policeman and criminal are reached the other side.) If he has a rivalry with the chiefthen he is not gonna come back after step 5. sorry but i couldn't get the logical explanation in this answer(and the question too)
