Why would you cound 'Y' as a vowel?
If your trying to make yourself sound more intelligent, its not working.

if you remember anything from grammar school, the vowels were taught as: a,e,i,o,u "AND" sometimes y. So technically y is considered a vowel at times.

To Anon:

How long did it take me to find 205+ words?

Only a couple of minutes. I built a word database from about half a dozen dictionary.

I made a query to find 8 letters words. Then a function to count vowels and consonants.

Here's the function. I found a few words that had 10-11 consonants with only one vowel.

Function vowels(w) As Integer
L = Len(w)
c = 0
For i = 1 To L
t = Mid(w, i, 1)
If InStr(1, "aeiou", t) Then c = c + 1
Next i
vowels = c
End Function

I think there are about 17,000 unique words included. I have used the database for several years. My favorite process is to unscrable words.

The letter 'Y' has never been taught as a vowel... I dont know what they teach you in america but the rest of the world doesnt consider it a vowel!

If they don't teach Y as having the capability of being a vowel and every word must have a vowel, where is the vowel in 'why', 'by', 'rhythm', or 'cry'? Consider that the first time you have been taught that Y can be a vowel, lesson learned.
