At a 45 deg tilt there more surface area.
Because you have to take the cosine of the angle times the area.Imagine a vertical wall, with vertical rain, how much rain would there be per area on the wall? Now compare that with the cosine of 90°.
If the wind is blowing the rain so that it falls at a 45 degree angle and the surface is at the same 45 degree angle, then the rainfall will measure zero, right?
Yes, as long as it's mathematical rain.
... and hi there Ragknot. Long time no see.
At the limit, with a 90º tilt there is no rain at the surface :)
