The 302nd prime is 1997, there can't be another 302nd one.
One is technically not a prime, but this puzzle is breaking a four digit number into 7 parts.

So the question is what is the next year. where none of the parts are prime... (and lets not let one sneak in there again.)
This is not my puzzle, but I admire the guy, so I am giving a pass on the ONE.

3137 is correct. Yes, it has a one in it, but the second position (standing alone) is not one of the seven parts.

Oh and I see where I said "where none of the parts are prime".
What a goof, of course it should have said ALL the parts are prime.
But the 3 isn't in the same position as the unit :)
..didn't think you meant none. I thought you meant no combination was a prime. If number is ABCD, the all parts were ABCD, A BCD, AB CD, ABC D, A B C D, A BC D, A B CD, AB C D for the 4444 answer, and ABCD, A BCD, AB CD, ABC D for the 4224 answer.
Of course I knew Cry Wolf got the intended answer in the first post. But, later I erroneously thought that I'd found a smaller answer.

My 4444 answer should have been 1444, and my 4224 answer should have been 1214.
Ive never seen a post where the first comment was correct and the comments kept going and going like this.

My normal services haven't resumed yet. A friend from the states is staying with me for a few days, so my birthday has now progressed through a birthday weekend and is on it's way to becoming a birthday week.
