As Knightmare stretches for his afternoon run, he notices 12 signs along the trail. There is an equal distance between each sign. He begins waddling ... oops ... I meant he begins running and reaches the 8th sign in 8 seconds.

Assuming his starting point is at the 1st sign, then it will take 12.571428571428571428571428571429 seconds to reach the 12th sign.
(plus whatever time he spent musing back at sign #8)
Hi EB ...exactly right 12.57 secs.
I calculate that theses signs were 18" apart at the most, and it took Knightmare over 12 seconds to fall over, due to air resistance slowing his fall.

I meant K took 4.57 seconds to fall over.
Downhill rolling - I wonder if that could become an Olympic sport. K could go for gold.
I misread the question, and couldn't come up with the answer, as I thought it had taken 7 signs to notice the equidistance, then started running took 8 seconds to go from sign 7 to 8.
I then assumed (mistake) that K had been intermittently walking/running/resting up to sign 7.
