Small and Large Numbers
If you have 2 numbers, and you subtract half of the smaller number from each number, the result from the larger number is 3 times the result from the smaller number.
By how many times is the larger number, larger than the smaller number?
or
You have 2 numbers.
One of the the numbers is bigger than the other one.
Find out what one half of the smaller number is.
Subtract the one half amount from both of the 2 numbers.
After you subtract, you will have 2 new numbers... the new larger number is 3 times as big as the new smaller number.
Is the original larger number 1, 2 , 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. times larger than the original smaller number?

2 Comments:
Let g > s be the two numbers.
g - s/2 = 3(s - s/2) => g - s/2 = 3s/2 => g = 2s
So the greater is twice the smaller.
no more calls please ... we have a winner
