The wizard who published the problem said:

The left side of the equation is divisible by 9, so the right side is too. It follows that the sum of the digits on the right side is dvisible by 9, so "a" is 8, which gives "t" a value of 4.

How about this?

t= 3.833749109
a= 100

230 + t = 233.8337491
3 * 233.8337491 = 701.5012473
701.5012473^2 = 492104

So "a" needs to a 1 in the hundreds position to make 492,104

Ok, now I see, rounding errors
t would be 4 and a 800 in the way I was thinking, so

492,804 = 492,804
