Bad Knee
Karl and Ross were in a 100 meter race.When Ross crossed the finish line,Karl was only at the 90 meter mark.The red faced Karl blamed his trick knee for the loss.Ross laughed and said "in that case,let's have another race.This time I will start 11 meters behind the starting line."
All being equal,who will win the race?

90m = Karlrate * t
100m = rossrate * t
Karl's Rate = 90/t
Ross' Rate = 100/t
Ross on the second race
111 = 100/t * time
111t/100 = time
1.11 = time
Karl on the second race
100 = 90/t * time
100t/90 = time
1.11111 = time
Ross will finish first
by a thousandth of a second
Wow I guess I can think this late. That should be a thousandth of the time it takes him to run 100 meters. Which was the base time unit I used (t).
David and Kimmy hit the nail on the head!good job
they will meet at the 99 meter mark and with Ross being the fastest of the two,he will cover that last meter faster.
btw,just to shake things up,who is the smarter one,David or Kimmy?
To avoid sleeping on the couch I think I will say Kimmy
