Man and Horse

There is a man and his horse. The man leaves town on Sunday, spends one night in a different town, he wakes up and returned home on Sunday .

How is this possible ?

The horse is Sunday.
This might also have something to do with Turkmenistan when the president has banned leap years, and re-calendarised and dated the year to pander to his vanity.

another possible answer, ignoring the horse:
he leaves the town on sunday, then he stayed in the wilderness until saturday, went into another town, slept there and went back to his town in the morning, one week after he left.

My first thought was that he crossed the international date line to where it was still saturday.

But I think the correct answer is the horse is named Sunday.. as stated above.

Perhaps in "returning home" he took airline flight across the International Date Line...
