The Poker Hand

In a five card poker hand:

∙ no card is above a 10
∙ no two cards of the same value
∙ all four suits represented
∙ total values of odd and even cards is equal
∙ no three cards in sequence
∙ black cards total 10
∙ hearts total 14
∙ lowest card is a spade


Name the five cards.

9 hearts
2 spades
8 clubs
4 diamonds

possibles 4,10 5,9 6,8

black = 10, spades lowest
possibles 1,9 2,8 3,7 4,6

if hearts even =14
then remaining 3 cards can't be odd to add to 14


if hearts odd =14
then black cards even =10
so diamond =4

so black cards cant be 4,6 as duplicate 4
hence black cards 2,8
spade is lowest

hence 5H, 9H, 2S, 8C, 4D
