Pigeons have been historically of benifit for the folowing uses:
-cheap message delivery (carrier pigeons)
-food source (delicacy in many countries)
-"croppers" legendary for stealing crops from lords fields. Farmers made the pigeons regurgitate the crops the pigeons swallowed from the lords field for their own use. (Note:Dubious example. This legend is told in many different forms using different crops and different lords and is likely an urban legend)
