A woman from New York married ten different men from that city,yet she did not break any laws.None of the men died,and she never divorced.How was this possible?

maybe she married in a countrie where polyagamy is allowed, because the question only says that she and the man are from new york, but not, that she married there~
She was the minister who performed the 10 men's ceremonies. She was not married to them, she married them to ten other women
