The man wearing a mask is Kapakoi's lover, and he is ready to leave for their masquerade ball that evening, but he is annoyed that Kapakoi is always running late so he has his outfit / mask in the car ready.
The man is a plumber although it's not relevant to this situation.
The man blocking him could be a Firefighter.
He left his house because it was burning.
He wanted to go back because he forgott something.
Firefighter with a gasmask blocked him.
