Can you figure out what type of gas this is (the italicised numbers are subscripts)?
E = 5th letter of alphabet
I = 9th letter of alphabet
M = 13th letter of alphabet
Meantime in my lab, I have mixed 5 molecules of Hydrogen, 9 molecules of lithium and 13 molecules of uranium…
I shall call my new gas…… Hydrolithiuranium – Helium for short.
My chemistry teacher told me this would be impossible, but hey, only 6 more impossible things to do before breakfast.
Sorry Karl. Lithium is Li. I can’t find an element L. But in looking that up, I remembered a very unusual element, Tc – technetium: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technetium. The article doesn’t mention that Tc decays because the orbital electrons penetrate the nucleus.
You’re right Chris, there isn’t an L, and I suppose it would have been (if lithium was allowed) Quinthydrononuslithiumtridecuranium.
I like the bit in the article about Mendeleev – a man who discovers something that must exist, but doesn’t exist yet.
Nice, that was quick guys, and possibly girls.
But what gas is this??????????????????
Chris, it would appear that at the time of our last posts on this thread, a new element was discovered! It is synthetic and can last for up to a second….
