The waiter took the note to the cashier, who understood its meaning and placed it in the cash register.

Pass The Exam

Basically the problem concerned a student who didn’t stop writing his exam paper when the bell rang. So when he went to place his test booklet on top of the rest of the pile a good five minutes after everyone else had handed theirs in, the professor in charge said he needn’t bother since he had automatically failed. “Do you have any idea who I am?” sneered the student. “No and I couldn’t care less,” replied the prof. So how can the student pass – assuming of course that s/he’s not the failing type?

Isn't it marbleous!

You have 10 bags of marbles. Each bag contains 25 marbles. 9 of the bags have marbles that weigh 10 gm. The other bag has marbles that weigh 11 gm. The bags aren't labelled. You have a weighing machine that displays in grams, and is sensitive enough to reliably read to the nearest gram. Using only one weighing, how can you find which bag has the 11 gm marbles?

Treasure hunt

A man has a treasure map. It shows an island with a gallows, an elm tree and an oak tree. The map has instructions. They say go to the gallows and walk to the elm tree, counting your paces. Then turn 90 degrees right and walk the same number of paces as you had just counted. Mark that spot. Go back to the gallows. Now walk to the oak tree, counting your paces. Turn 90 degrees left and walk the same number of paces as you had just counted. Mark that spot. The treasure is buried halfway between the two marked spots.

When he got to the island, he could find the trees, but not the gallows. How can he find the treasure?

There are quite a few ways to answer this problem. One is partly outside the box. It is a famous problem.

The bare facts of the naked truth

I hope this one isn't too well known.

A man died and went to heaven. When he got there he found that everyone was naked. A man and a woman walked over to greet him. The (newly dead) man said to them, "Hello Adam, hello Eve".

How did he know who they were?

A Circle Mystery

From Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:
"Which came first, the phoenix or the flame?"
"...a circle has no beginning," Luna Lovegood once cleverly said.

But really, does a circle have no beginning?
I mean, there has to be something that begun the circle,
or else there would be no circle at all..........

What do you think?

The big water fall

There's a place where a water fall, falls almost 400 feet over the edge and width of falls is about 3 miles. Currently there is no water falling, but there's water at the foot of the falls. When the water fall was active, it was five times size of Nigira Falls.

Where on earth are these falls, and what is it's name?

A zebra?? and water??!!

There are five houses.

The Ukrainian drinks tea.

The green house is immediately to the right of the ivory house.

The Spaniard owns the dog.

Coffee is drunk in the green house.

An Englishman lives in the red house.

Kools are smoked in the yellow house.

The Old Gold smoker owns snails.

Milk is drunk in the middle house.

An Englishman lives in the red house.

The Norwegian lives in the first house.

Kools are smoked in the house next to the house where the horse is kept.

The man who smokes Chesterfields lives in the house next to the man with the fox.

Kools are smoked in the yellow house.

The Japanese smokes Parliaments.

The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.

The Lucky Strike smoker drinks orange juice.

Now, if it is given that a resident drinks water and the same OR another has a zebra, which one is it?(or which ones are they)

PS: I hope this is good enough... the standard has gone down a little.

Deaf Spy

A deaf spy is sent to spy on an air field. He takes a room in the boarding house of Mrs. Oldham. Every now and then, and at random, he makes an excuse to go up to the attic room in order to watch the airfield with his opera glasses untill he sees an airplane. He then immediately makes a note of this in his report and goes back downstairs.

Back in Oblivia, Funkov goes through the spy's report. "It is worse than useless," he says. "We already know that every single hour, day and night, exactly one plane lands, refuels and leaves in a perfectly regular fashion. And yet this report states that he finds 11 times as many planes landing as taking off."

"Hm," says his colleague, Khatzov. "That makes sense. We can get some useful information out of it."

What information can he had from these facts ?

Cunning Sage

The three wisest sages in the land were brought before the king to see which of them were worthy to become the king's advisor. After passing many tests of cunning and invention, they were pitted against each other in a final battle of the wits. Led blind-folded into a small room, the sages were seated around a small wooden table as the king described the test for them.

"Upon each of your heads I have placed a hat. Now you are either wearing a blue hat or a white hat. All I will tell you is this- at least one of you is wearing a blue hat. There may be only one blue hat and two white hats, there may be two blue hats and one white hat, or there may be three blue hats. But you may be certain that there are not three white hats."

"I will shortly remove your blind folds, and the test will begin. The first to correctly announce the colour of his hat shall be my advisor. Be warned however, he who guesses wrongly shall be beheaded. If not one of you answers within the hour, you will be sent home and I will seek elsewhere for wisdom."

With that, the king uncovered the sages' eyes and sat in the corner and waited. One sage looked around and saw that his competitors each were wearing blue hats. From the look in their eyes he could see their thoughts were the same as his, "What is the colour of my hat?" For what seemed like hours no one spoke. Finally he stood up and said, "The colour of the hat I am wearing is . . ." (what colour is his hat? explain)
