The Secret Password

A man wants to enter a private club, but the main door is guarded by a doorman who only lets people in who know the right password. The man hides in the bushes near the door and listens.

One patron approaches the doorman, who says, "12."
The patron replies, "6," and the doorman lets him in.

Another patron approaches the doorman who says, "6."
The patron replies, "3," and the doorman lets him in.

Thinking he has the code figures out, the man approaches the doorman.
The doorman says, "8," and the man replies, "4."
"I'm sorry sir," the doorman says, "This is a private club and only members are allowed."

What did the man do wrong?

Four Wise Words

A long, long time ago, two Egyptian camel drivers were fighting for the hand of the daughter of the sheik of Abbudzjabbu. The sheik, who liked neither of these men to become the future husband of his daughter, came up with a clever plan: a race would determine who of the two men would be allowed to marry his daughter. And so the sheik organized a camel race. Both camel drivers had to travel from Cairo to Abbudzjabbu, and the one whose camel would arrive last in Abbudzjabbu, would be allowed to marry the sheik's daughter.
The two camel drivers, realizing that this could become a rather lengthy expedition, finally decided to consult the Wise Man of their village. Arrived there, they explained him the situation, upon which the Wise Man raised his cane and spoke four wise words. Relieved, the two camel drivers left his tent: they were ready for the contest! What were the words?

*For the uninitiated "Wall-E" is an Earth Robot and "EVE" state of the art feminine robot from space.

Adam: What's that got to do with it?
Eve: Who do you think you are talking to me like that?
Adam: Where can i find someone who will tell me the time?

Still Got Friday

I got on scooter within ten minutes after I got your letter. When I got to Carlsbad, I got a taxi for town. But I got wet through before I got to Carlsbad, and I have got such a cold as I shall not be able to get rid of in a hurry. I got to bank about noon, but first of all I got shaved and dressed. I soon got into the secret of getting a petition before the board, but I could not get an answer then, however I got intelligence from the agent that I should most likely get one the next morning.

As soon as I got back to my hotel, I got my dinner, and got to bed, it was not long before I got to sleep. When I got up in the morning, I got my breakfast, and then got myself dressed, that I might get out in time, to get an answer to my petition. As soon as I got it, I got into the taxi, and got to Carlsbad by three: and about tea time, I got home. I have got nothing particular for you and so Adieu.

What's wrong in the above paragraphs ? Can you fix it ?
